Open Air Laboratories (OPAL) is a nationwide initiative that encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, study, and enjoy their local environment. OPAL organises activities, events and a series of national surveys that bring scientists and the public closer together, creating lasting relationships, and contributing to valuable scientific research. OPAL is funded by the Big Lottery Fund, and led by Imperial College London.
