National Insect Week returns in 2020

OFFICIAL LAUNCH

National Insect Week will be launched at BUGS Exhibit, ZSL London Zoo on Monday 20th June

Invited supporters will be invited to discover the little things that run the world at the offical launch of National Insect Week. They can go bug-eyed and explore the world under the magnifying glass at the launch of Insects in Depth by scientific artist Alan Shaw in the Zoo’s BUGS exhibit. There will also be an opportunity to get up-close and personal with the Zoo's insects and learn about the hundreds of events and activities taking place during National Insect Week 2016

Hawley Infants Primary School will be taking part in a bug hunt around the extensive wildlife gardens at the Zoo, led by entomologist Jess French (BBC Minibeast Adventure with Jess)

NIW will be offically launched by:

The Earl of Selborne GBE FRS DL (Vice-Patron of the RES)

Paul Pearce Kelly (Senior Curator of Invertebrates, Lower Vertebrates and Research at ZSL)

Prof Michael Hassell CBE, FRS (RES President and Honorary Principal Research Fellow at Imperial College)

This will be a unique event that kicks-off an exciting week of insect fun across the country.

As well as hosting the Launch, ZSL London Zoo will be buzzing with activities throughout National Insect Week too. To find out what's on at ZSL, including Insect in Depth, click here for details.
